who are you? who am i? who are we? why are you asking me so many questions?

theres a lot about me all over this website already, you just have to sit with it long enough to realize it! so instead lets talk about my page as a whole.
i started this website as a roll out for my annual video, but really i had been wanting to create something like this for a while. for a long time, i have had talks about my dispise for social media and how i would one day "fall off and never come back". what i have found time and time again when i try to leave, i miss the connection. sharing small pieces of our every day life is part of what keeps us together!
i am a strong believer in community. i always have been. with the restrictions we face (both creatively and objectively) with modern social media platforms, i feel the only way we can continue to connect is to step out of the convenience of instant gratification, and seek somewhere we can express ourselves further. after all, expression is what connects us all.
the "old web" was something i got to spend little time on, as i was only getting online towards the end of what i have come to discover as a sort of golden age. my early days browsing the internet is pictured as a young lindsey searching the depths of youtube to find a tutorial on how to summon herobrine in minecraft. i can say i was on instagram way too early on though, back when sharing an image of your food with a filter over it didnt feel suffocating.
discovering the world of old web styled blogs was an accident. there was a neocities page called pomelo.lol that i came across through a recommended youtube video. their website introduced me to a whole new world i thought wasnt even active anymore! pushed by the gut punch of nostalgia for a time younger me clearly missed out on, i dove headfirst into every corner of this new medium. how exciting to be able to express yourself to this extent, and share it with others!
so then mcspage came to be. (mc being short for my middle name...)
everyone talks about a lack of authenticity on social media. theres conversations about being more open and honest online. then theres even talks about we know way too much about eachother all the time! frankly... i like being connected with my community through discussion. going back and forth about the mundane, the exciting, and all of the in-between. talks of the same old same old. in times like these, we need eachother. through a screen is one thing, but if we are using our devices to connect, let us be intentional with out time.
thank you for joining me here on my page, i hope you can find something cool here. if anything, i hope you to leave with a few ideas to sit with! creativity and community are everything. expression through whatever medium is power, and sharing that with others is too. never stop! ok thanks more to come on other pages luv u baiiii
